Manifesto (definition):
A written declaration of inner convictions and outer intentions,
outlining what a person deeply thinks and what they will actually do because of it.
Have you ever gotten lost in thought? Had a vibrant idea–revolutionary really–but it didn’t make it farther than the distance between your two ears?
I’ve had this frustration before–I want to change the world (quietly, of course), but my ideas sometimes don’t travel farther than my own journal or small circle.
What if you could think through deeply what you’re put on this earth for, parse through what you really think about life, the world, and your book…AND put your thoughts into action? Have someone who will help you make a plan for your book and a plan for sharing your work that feels good, and holds you to it, so it actually gets done?
“The Quiet Manifesto” is a special Blueprint coaching package where you will write your own (quiet) declaration of what you believe will thoughtfully change the world, how your book will express it subtly, and how you will share it in your own quiet way.
It asks the deep questions and gets you to really think about what matters to you and how you will act on it:
- Why is the world the way it is?
- Why are you writing this book?
- Who are you? What are you meant to do?
- What is the point of it all?
- Who do you most connect with?
- How will you show up, day in and day out?
- How will you approach the hard stuff?
- What books really resonate with you? Why? Why not?
- How will you structure your book? How will you express yourself?
- How will you market your book when it feels like pulling teeth?
- What’s the best publishing path for you?
- What are the recurring patterns of habit and purpose in your writing life?
- How will you care for others with your deep thoughts and quiet action?
We find the answers to these questions (and more) through reflective exercises, thoughtful back and forth, and real life challenges to put into practice your plan for your book and sharing it.
The Quiet Manifesto has two parts: The Catalyst and the Call to Action.
The Catalyst: Your Convictions About Your World, Your Book and Your Writing Career
This is the inner story empowering your writing life and how it connects to the bigger stories in the world and in your book.
The Call to Action: Your Intentions For Showing Up and Sharing Your Work
This is the lived out story of your writing habits, marketing, publishing route, and ultimately your book, fueled by the fire of your convictions.
FAQs
- Q: Is this only for writers of faith? A: No, it is for anyone who would like to explore their own way of looking at the world, how their book connects to larger cultural/world stories, and how they can intentionally show up to share their work. This is about exploring YOUR convictions and intentions, not mine.
- Q: Is this similar or different to your Blueprint for a Book Package referenced in other parts of your website? A: This package covers the entire Blueprint for a Book methodology created by Jennie Nash, plus additional content specifically exploring inner convictions, outer intentions, learning about and researching the marketplace, finding marketing strategy support, and discerning publishing route. So if you’re looking for Blueprint work, you’re in the right place! If you’ve already written your Blueprint and want feedback on it, this package will provide full feedback for you, and take you even deeper with more questions.
- Q: How long does this coaching package take to do? A: This package is spread over 6 months, in 5 bookings or deadlines.
- Q: How much does it cost? A: a total of $3500 CAD plus tax. It works out to 5 deadlines, each $700 CAD plus tax. You need to pay one deadline’s worth ahead of time ($700 CAD plus tax) to book your spot.
- Q: What does the work look like? A: First, you fill out your allotted written assignment for the deadline booked. These assignments include Blueprint questions, plus others. Secondly, I look it over for a set amount of time, putting my feedback down in my notes to you. Then I give you my feedback, so you can look it over a few days ahead of our wrap up online meeting for that homework assignment. Thirdly, at the meeting, we discuss your homework, the feedback, and new ideas that come from it, plus the next steps for you in the next deadline.
- Q: How do I get started? A: Email Laura at lauraaliese@gmail.com to get the ball rolling. She will direct you to her Welcome Questionnaire (which you can also fill out below) and set up a free intro/discovery call to discuss the Quiet Manifesto package, no strings attached.
I worked with Laura to refine the Blueprint of a project that had already seen many iterations. From the beginning, she respected my vision for the project and gently guided me to go deeper when I wasn't sure how to take my project to the next level.
I appreciated Laura's thoughtful, thorough feedback and her willingness to brainstorm on calls together. She even did her own research on the historical time period in which my book is set, so she could better advise me! I'm so grateful to have worked with Laura; I know my book is much more fully formed than it would have been without her support.
